Christmas Day

Christmas Day is fast approaching and I cannot wait to sit down and enjoy a lovely roast with my family. One of my favourite things to do at Christmas time is decorate the dining table. From folded napkins, a bit of tinsel and some candles to the elaborate centerpiece and individual name cards. You can be as kitsch or as formal as you like. But bring some festive cheer to the table this year.

This year I love adding some natural elements to my decor, I have popped pine cones on my Christmas tree and added foliage to centre pieces. I love how this table features a classic setting with some gorgeous festive greenery.

Or add a bit of a forest feel with this great idea for a place name on your table…so easy and simple – paired with some lovely crockery and perhaps some candles, you wouldn’t need much more.

For less formal – more fun atmosphere why not get a little creative and play around with props and some colour. How sweet is this suspended branch with baubles hanging from it? You could even incorporate some battery operated fairy lights to add some sparkle.

But the no.1 item you must remember to put out on your table is the Christmas Bon Bon or Cracker. It is my mission each year to hunt around and find the best ones. Consider colour, contents and size. In my books as long as there is the crappy paper hat and a terrible joke, you’re set!
